Canadian and Japanese Music Presented In Meaford Concert August 21, 2018.Meaford Summer Concert Series Features Sean Cotton August 23, 2018.This video, in addition to showing off his talent as a singer-songwriter, features a selection of other stellar area musicians and will have you clicking on “Replay” (and singing along): His show as part of Terrace Thursdays was sold out long in advance, so many local music fans were unable to enjoy it. #1 – “45’s and 33’s” by Drew McIvor – Even though he’s a Meaford resident, Drew McIvor’s in-town gigs are all too rare (you have to drive down the road on Thursdays to catch him at The Bruce Wine Bar). This is just one of many videos that show off his great talents as a songwriter and performer. #2 – “Sure Thing” by Marshall Dane – Rising country star Marshall Dane rocked downtown Meaford at the final of the Summer Concert Series. He has a lot of videos on You Tube, all of them superlative, and this one is a recording of one of his recent songs, written while on vacation in Mexico: #3 – “Diving In” by Jayden Grahlman – Jayden is a musical star of the first order who just happens to be nestled in our corner of the heavens. He has released a long list of very impressive videos and this one shows how accomplished and beautiful his songs can be in the simplest of settings: #4 – “Rows Of Houses/ Leaves, Trees, Forest” by Dan Mangan – A very sophisticated songsmith, Dan Mangan wove some magic at Meaford Hall in August with accompanist Gordon Grdina.
In this clip, from a night at The Leeky, he’s joined by Victoria Yeh and Jayden Grahlman for a moving rendition of Prince’s “Purple Rain”: At the same time, with his weekly hosting of an open mic at The Leeky Canoe, a sold out Terrace Thursday, a Sunday night Friends Of The Library concert and many other appearances, he’s established a reputation as a powerful singer. Chris has had a huge impact on live music in Meaford this summer, organizing some amazing shows that have heated up the summer night life in town. #5 – “Purple Rain” by Chris Scerri with Victoria Yeh and Jayden Grahlman.
